Data Portrait: Daily Energy Slump
Code: https://editor.p5js.org/mlinhle617/sketches/b_J2n9V66

Description: I tracked my energy slump daily for 7 days to see when are the time that I am most ineffective from the time that I start working until I finish work. How to read the data: I have included a key in the data portrait with instruction on how to read the data. The white dot moves at a normal speed when it’s not in an energy slump and moves at a lower speed when it’s in an energy slump. How slow it moves depend on how low my energy level is.

Design Process

I started by tracking what I do in a day and my energy level from when I start working until I call it a day. My original spreadsheet that I used to track my days was very messy because I didn’t take time to organize things at first, and just took note of how my days were going whenever I got some free time. After some cleaning up, I’ve got a nicely organized json file with only the start and end time of my energy slump and my energy level (range from 1 to 10).

Reflection

By visualizing my data, I can see how slow I move during an energy slump, and how it slow down my day. What was lost was the things that I do throughout the day. There wasn’t enough space to add the tasks that I work on, so I decided to focus only on the energy slump times and my efficiency throughout the day.
